Fronius is an Austrian company founded in the year 1945. The company was founded by Günter Fronius who started out with electrical equipment repairs. Having been in the business for 75 years, the company started with the manufacture of welding equipment.
Fronius has been in the solar division since 1992 where they manufacture solar inverters and other devices for monitoring energy, including battery chargers. In 1995, Fronius launched their Sunrise Midi grid connect inverter.
The IG inverter range that was launched in 2001, had various problems like other inverters during that time but, in 2014 Fronius launched its SnapInverter range. It was lightweight and had a simple mounting system.
Lately, the Fronius GEN24 inverter range has received very positive feedback and is quite in demand. Primo GEN24 Plus inverter released just last year, was their first single-phase hybrid inverter.
Having a physical store is always helpful. Fronius has had their Australian office in Melbourne since 2010. It’s beneficial for the customers if a company has a physical presence in supporting warranty claims and needs. Fronius is reasonably popular in the Australian market and has done well to survive in the solar manufacturing industry.
Fronius has cracked both the high-end and budget category. Fronius inverters are widely suited for both commercial and residential solar projects.
