Tesla, Inc. (TSLA) is a U.S. automotive and energy company based in Palo Alto, California. It manufactures electric cars and solar panels. In 2015, it launched its first home battery product, the Tesla Powerwall. It is a “rechargeable lithium ion battery with liquid thermal control.”
Tesla makes small-scale batteries for home energy storage and this makes it one of the few companies in the residential energy storage that are engaged in this business. It develops a commercially available LiOn battery storage solution for the home or business. It has also built an enormous battery factory named Gigafactory for the development of new and improved battery packs both for its vehicles and for home and business energy storage.
The Powerwall 1 was launched in April 2015, and an updated Powerwall 2.0 was announced in October 2016 with twice the storage capacity of the original.
Powerwall 1 and Powerwall 2 come with 10-year limited warranty and 10-year warranty to 70% retained capacity* respectively. Its design is compact and simple and is a completely automated system that installs easily and requires no maintenance.

The excess energy produced during the day is stored in energy storage system. This stored power can be utilised to reduce reliance on grid.
Powerwall has a feature called Time-Based Control system which helps to use energy in a smarter way. It learns your solar generation and energy usage patterns and helps to maximise savings.
