No doubt, a number of solar battery trials are going on in the Australian market at the moment but they are not mass promoted other that won’t be considered as a trial. Often such trials are conducted by the battery manufacturer’s themselves or are funded by the government agencies such as ARENA or the CEFC in partnership with large energy companies. It’s quite rare that any private company does that.

But some solar companies have been sending misleading letters to solar system owners every few months. To put pressure on people or to make them feel special, they write words like ‘Final Invitation,’ ‘you have been selected for Initial Testing of Battery.’ Some even misinterpret the information and believe it as a “free solar battery offer.”

These tactics successfully lure some innocent customers. The sales representatives make them believe that they are getting it at a lower price than the price they would get it for in the general market. The problem is when such customers get trapped in their lies and order the product. The reality is they would have got the same price in the market from a local solar company.

What can be done?

Do not trust the special rate deals blindly and do a thorough analysis by comparing the quotes with other quotes for the same product. Do check the credibility of the retailer.
